Alternative styles for wedding flowers
Ever wondered what else is out there? It surprises us that many wedding magazines feature just posy style hand tied bouquets. How, unless you are in the industry, would you ever know about other styles, alternatives and designs unless you can see them? That’s why we jumped at the chance to work with Charlotte and the team at Legend Bridal, ZT photography, Sonara Parker (Makeup artist), Duncan Fisher (Hair design) and Chloe and Katy (our fab models) to create images to excite brides and grooms by showing some alternative to the ‘norm’ styles. Legend Bridal created a range of black dresses which are both detailed and beautiful. Originally this shoot was to be set out side, However on the day it was lashing down tropical storm style so we went inside, the fabulous church setting made for a dark and moody shoot, lit with candles, it also highlights Zt photography and their ability to style your wedding photos, as you can see from this levitation shot!
For our first bouquet we created this fabulous boa of delicate teal wire, interspersed with fantastic skeleton leaves, Orchids, Hydrangea, Kalanchoe, Carnation and Limonium in shades of purples and pinks which give this awesome pop of colour. As you can see, it trails behind the bride when she walks and can also wrap around you. The shot below in the aisle way gives you a good idea on the length and something like this can also be used on a long top table, making sure you get the very most out of this fantastic design.
In this fabulous shot we paired this really special dress with a crescent of black feathers, Purple Vanda orchids, Alstromeria, Carnations and Anthuriums. Fabulously oversized and a real statement piece. Certainly an alternative to a regular posy design!
Another large style bouquet can be seen below, made on a wire framework, this incorporated a decorative wire and Asparagus fern collar with a centre of waxed apples, Succulents, Chrysanthemum blooms, Roses, and Eucalyptus pods.
This heart shape design is another interesting way to hold a floral design on your big day, It is covered all over in Vanda Orchids, Spray Roses, Gerbera minis and Purple skeleton leaves to create more of a fabulous textured look.
“THE OLD BALL AND CHAIN”
The trailing design in this shot is actually a ball, chain and wrist band. Made from dyed Eucalyptus leaves individually pinned to the sphere. Ceropegia woodii succulent plant was entwined around the design which was then studded with deep burgundy Cosmos flower which also smells of chocolate!
