VINTAGE WEDDINGS (WITH A TWIST)
We have worked a few times now with Nic and Rachel from Bridal Chic in the city www.bridalchicinthecity.co.uk and this shoot was fun, as usual. Their down to earth views and friendly attitude mean that their blogs are easy to read and meaningful to their readers. At first I couldn’t picture where this place was! “What?, across from Victoria Station?” It’s there though, a fantastic venue nestled right in there, the fabulous Chethams Library. It is something special and certainly a venue to consider for your big day. Vintage and Rustic a go go here!
So, Onto the flowers……
The colour of the models hair just sets off these flowers perfectly. They are made on a coiled rustic wire with the emphasis on one side. If you are thinking of big ‘ole curls for your wedding day then think big with the head gear too. Big impact and bold colours mixed with the delicate branches really work well. The Handle for this bouquet is a carefully chosen branch! really easy to hold. Here we have used the classic Vintage style flowers. Hyacinths, Lily, Kalanchoe, Lissianthus and Waxflower each one carefully attached onto the coil framework of rustic wire to create this springy, trailing Vintage bouquet (with a twist).
Seriously, how nice is this car!!?You can hire it from Nicole at Penny belle (She does Cake too!!) Creating flowers for this was awesome. The coil design was once again used to compliment the Vintage style and it sat neatly above the licence plate. Not too much and still really stylish! We used Tulips, Ranunculus, Waxflower and more branches to achieve this look.
How do you create an effective table centre in a setting this grand? You have to make sure that you follow the theme and in a darker environment use bright colours to make that pop! Using a collection of bottles and a fabulous silver cake stand we built up this pussy willow structure and then delicately placed and attached a collection of flowers used throughout the hair, car and bouquet designs. Tying the whole vintage/rustic look together.
A Massive thanks to all our super professional friends!!….
